One of our members, general merchants store William Shearer, has been featured in the latest Orkney.com Business Focus.
The shop on Kirkwall's Victoria Street was established in 1857 before moving to its current premises two years later. It has become an established and popular part of Orkney's business community, providing vital services to the farming community and much loved by both locals and visitors.
It stocks such a wide range of goods it's almost impossible to list them. From groceries to health foods, fishing tackle to ammunition, grass seed and tatties to coal, peat and logs, it's a fantastic place to visit and browse.
