Oatcakes from Orkney will be part of a Scottish showcase at a major international food and drink even in Japan this week.
Stromness-based Stockan's will be exhibiting its range of delicious oatcakes at Foodex in Chiba between the 5th and 8th of March. It's the largest event of its kind in Asia, attracting around 3000 exhibitors from nearly 100 different countries. It's expected that more than 85,000 food and drink buyers will be attending.
Stockan's Oatcakes is attending Foodex as part of a Scottish Development International stand, alongside five other manufacturers, each displaying and sampling their products to hopefully help establish new markets and customers.
The business has been baking oatcakes in Orkney for more than 100 years and its range includes original, cheese, beremeal and cracked black pepper varieties. All Stockan's oatakes are made using the best wholegrain oats, a superfood, and are packed with fibre, giving a slow release of energy along with a number of other benefits.
