The latest version of the ‘Peedie Orkney Foodies Guide’ is out now, full of information on the finest producers, restaurants and retailers to be found in the islands.
The pocket-sized booklet features information on a number of Orkney Food and Drink members, highlighting the incredible range of quality products available in Orkney.
The 2018/19 guide focuses on smaller producers, including Orkney Isles Preserves, Peedie Chocs & Desserts and Wilsons of Westray. There are also sections showcasing the wide range of hotels, cafes, restaurants, shops and delicatessens where you can sample Orkney’s larder for yourself.
Project Manager for Orkney Food and Drink, Edgar Balfour, said: “This guide gives both locals and visitors an overview of what we have on offer here in Orkney. We want people to get out and about and visit our members where they can actually buy or try the incredible range of products made right here in the islands. Hopefully it will help them discover something new at the same time.”
The guide is available to download from the Orkney Food and Drink website. Copies can be found across Orkney, including at the Visitor Information Centre in Kirkwall, at Kirkwall Airport, on-board NorthLink Ferries vessels, at the Pentland Ferries terminals in Orkney and Caithness and with Orkney Food and Drink members.
The Digital Orkney project has been part financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community Orkney LEADER 2014-2020 Programme.
