The Orkney Brewery is in the running for a number of titles at a major national beer competition.
The Quoyloo-based brewery has received seven nominations in the second annual Scottish Beer Awards, sponsored by ALDI. It is also in the running for the ‘Beer Destination of the Year’ title in recognition of its five star visitor centre and restaurant.
Thirty six breweries and 146 beers in total will be represented in the finals of the competition. The shortlist was put together by a panel of experts from Scotland from an original list of 266 beers.
Potential award winners for the Orkney Brewery include Dark Island, Dark Island Reserve, Skull Splitter, Red MacGregor, Puffin Ale, Orkney Gold and Corncrake.
The winners will be announced at an event in Edinburgh at the end of September.
