Visitors to Orkney this summer will be able to find all the food and drink inspiration they need thanks to the launch of the latest ‘Peedie Orkney Foodies Guide’.
The updated 2016/17 version from Orkney Food and Drink features producers, restaurants and retailers from across the islands.
The pocket-sized booklet highlights some of the quality products available in Orkney, from the finest cheese and chutney to beef, beer and even buffalo burgers. All Orkney Food and Drink associate members are included, along with contact details to make sure that the very best of Orkney’s larder is available to everyone.
Development Manager for Orkney Food and Drink, Edgar Balfour, said: ‘We’re proud of our quality producers and providers here in the islands. The Peedie Orkney Foodies Guide 2016/17 gives a snapshot of what’s on offer - we hope people will enjoy taking time to sample the Orkney larder and visiting our welcoming hotels, restaurants and cafes. They can also nominate their favourites online as part of this year’s Orkney Food Awards.’
The guide is available to download from the Orkney Food and Drink website. Hard copies can be picked up across the islands, including at the Visitor Information Centre in Kirkwall, at Kirkwall Airport, on-board Northlink Ferries vessels and at the Pentland Ferries terminals in Orkney and Caithness.
