Here you'll find details of all the activities and events involving OFD members.
Our next event involves a trip south of the border to Birmingham's NEC for the Farm Shop & Deli Show from the 31st March to the 1st of April 2020. This is a smaller event for us, with only five of the team attending - and utilising a new format.
Great food and drink is part of everyday life in Orkney, but throughout the year many special events take place – from the Orkney Folk Festival and world-renowned St Magnus Festival and the Orkney Science Festival, to our busy local agricultural shows and farmers’ markets – with local produce always available to try or buy.
During the year OFD members also attend key trade shows throughout the country, including the Scotland’s Speciality Food Show and the Royal Highland Show, flying the flag for the Orkney brand and introducing their products to new customers.
All local activities carried out by Orkney Food & Drink are supported by our main sponsor NorthLink Ferries. With NorthLink Ferries, travelling to Orkney and Shetland is more convenient than ever before. Choose from up to three sailings a day from Scrabster (near Thurso) to Stromness in Orkney and nightly sailings from Aberdeen to Lerwick in Shetland – with four of these sailings going via Orkney’s capital, Kirkwall. www.northlinkferries.co.uk

Country Living Fair
Year three of our joint attendance at this event with our friends in the Creative sector. After very successful attendances in 2018 & 2019, we are hopeful that even more members will sign up for 2020. It will probably be the biggest Orkney stand of recent years. Come along and buy your unique Christmas gift for that special person in your life.
Pre-Christmas public event in Orkney. Following on from the very successful events in 2016 and 2017, which were held in Highland Park & Scapa Distilleries in 2016 & 2017 respectively, the hope is to re-instate this event in 2020, if we can secure a suitable venue. A Christmas Fayre with local producers and makers selling their wares. Stalls will be dressed for Christmas and there will be a range of other features, new and old, that will be taking place on the day. Full details will be publicised later in the year if it is to go ahead.
