The Orkney Brewery

Orkney Food & Drink Awards 2014 WINNER - Best Marketing Initiative

The Orkney Brewery is one of the UK’s leading craft breweries, with a string of awards to its name. Housed in the former schoolhouse at Quoyloo, in Orkney’s west mainland, the brewery is the only in Scotland to have a Five Star ranked visitor centre, now a key tourist attraction in the islands.

Formed in 1988, the Orkney Brewery became part of Sinclair Breweries Ltd – run by Orcadian Norman Sinclair – in 2006. An extensive programme of redevelopment and expansion since then has seen the brewery more than double its capacity and cement its reputation worldwide.

The brewery produces a core range of cask and bottled ales - including Dark Island, Skullsplitter, Raven, Northern Light and Red Macgregor - along with a number of speciality and seasonal brews.

Innovation, passion and rigorous attention to detail define the Orkney Brewery’s approach, with the Quoyloo team’s dedication to their craft consistently recognised by the industry at national and international level.

The Orkney Brewery supplies customers around the world - from the USA to the Far East – with an increasing number of major supermarket chains in the UK now stocking its range of beers.
