Family run wholesale butcher Craigie Butchers has grown to become one of the largest suppliers of premium quality meat products in Orkney.

Based at the Hall of Yenstay – an east mainland farm owned by the Craigie family for over 200 years – the business is now managed by Thorfinn Craigie and his wife Katherine who continue to build on the success and reputation of previous generations.

Using only locally farmed and fully traceable Orkney beef, lamb and pork, the firm creates a wide variety of top quality products for restaurants, shops and hotels throughout the islands. Craigie’s has also pioneered the use of sustainably managed Orkney goose and now offers an enormously popular selection of products using this tasty and healthy seasonal meat.

Our range of products is available from the butchery section The Brig Larder shop in Kirkwall, which we jointly own with Jollys of Orkney.

Craigie Butchers is part of a consortium of local butchers running Orkney’s abattoir – safeguarding the provenance of Orkney Meat and Orkney Lamb - and remains fully committed to maintaining the best traditions of island producers.
